New Seasons - New Chapters

Monday we will begin a new season in our lives.

Monday we begin homeschooling Hannah and Katie.

Initially I was not going to start our school year until July 1; today, Hannah asked me if we could start tomorrow.  I asked her if we could possibly start Monday so I could clean up the bomb that went off in the kitchen made by my organizing today.  We have all of the curriculums we are going to use, I have most of our school year planned out on paper (insert real life and all of that planning goes out the window), we pretty much have the basic supplies we need. We are good to go!

This year we are going to be using My Father's World - Explorers to 1850 as our bible, history, music and art curriculum.  Hannah and Katie will be doing these subjects together with me.  Katie will be doing the science that is included with the curriculum and will focus on animals the first half of the year and Apologia's Exploring Creation through Botany the second half of the year; math is going to be Math-U-See Gamma (I'm hoping we can get through this level fairly quickly since it will be mostly review) moving on to Delta; language arts is going to be Easy Grammar (grade 4) and Writing Strands level 3 and spelling.  Hannah will be using Apologia's General Science, math will be Saxon 8/7, language arts will be Easy Grammar (grade 6) and Writing Strands level 3.

I think the teacher will be learning as much as the students this year.  I'm excited and can't wait!
